A Star Careers is an all age Career Consultancy service, established in 2011 by Kelly Vella ICG Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Career Guidance. We offer a friendly, confidential, tailored and impartial Career Information, Advice and Guidance service supporting both adults and young people. Services are available face to face (North London, Herts and Essex), via telephone and email/online.
These services are available free via *ESF funded government schemes (*eligibility criteria) and private pay for Consultancy services.

Kelly Vella at A Star Careers offers one to one and group Careers/Employment and Skills advice to individuals and organisations. After 7 years experience working within Careers I have developed positive working relationships and currently contract with a range of partners including; The National Careers Service . Also working closely with organisations such as; Propsects Services Ltd, Suffolk County Council, Herts Careers Services, Volunteer Services, Further Education Colleges, Adult Community Learning Centres, Training providers, Jobcentre Plus, Libraries, Social Care organisations and also specialist Mental Health organisations.

WHAT IS CAREERS GUIDANCE?
"Career guidance refers to services and activities intended to assist individuals of any age and at any point throughout their lives, to make educational, training and occupational choices and to manage their careers. Such services may be found in schools, universities and colleges, in training institutions, in public employment services, in the workplace, in the voluntary or community sector and in the private sector. The activities may take place on an individual or group basis and may be face-face or at a distance (including help lines and web based services). They include career information provision (in print, ICT-based and other forms), assessment and self-assessment tools, counselling interviews, career education programmes (to help individuals develop their self awareness, opportunity awareness, and career management skills), taster programmes (to sample options before choosing them), work search programmes, and transition services."
The definition above was adopted by the Institute of Career Guidance after it was used in international reviews conducted by the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), the European Commission and the World Bank Businesses
